All states get equal treatment

KUALA LUMPUR: The Barisan Nasional Federal Government will not discriminate against the five Opposition-held states when it comes to foreign investments, said Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The new International Trade and Industry Minister said it was up to potential investors to decide where they wanted to go.

“It’s not the business of the Government to say you go east, west, north, south, up or down. If they do make a decision and it happens to fall in a state controlled by Barisan, then well and good.

“But if they want to go to some state not under Barisan, so be it. We are not going to say ‘no’. Otherwise, we will give the wrong signal to foreign investors,” he said.
